This is a well-done and brief story, and it provides a counterpoint view from another feminist who feels that returning to the kitchen is a step backwards for women. I don’t think she realizes that the book is about men and women both returning to the kitchen, nor does she grasp that if American men and women don’t accept responsibility for their own domestic welfare, then we are expecting someone else to do it…and that probably isn’t going to happen in a socially or ecologically responsible way. Since when is taking responsibility for our own lives anti-feminist?
